If it isn't clear in the panels, she is drawing eyes on the statue. I have plans to edit this page later to make it a little easier to tell, but I have plans to edit lots of things.
Don’t know if you ever went back and edited this, but I think it’s plenty clear what she’s doing. You can see the eyes are obscured in the fourth panel.

I thought she might be scraping off mud or other material that had been placed on the eyes.
